Experience of environmental monitoring at the Russian Seas is summarized. Problems, which occur as a result of biological field observations, are studied. Classification options and assessment of integral biota vulnerability are discussed. Forecast of the biota state is given basing on the regression and self-organising models. Examples of the data handling are presented.
