A new species, Geinitzia aristovi sp. nov. (Grylloblattida: Geinitziidae) is described and illustrated from the Middle Jurassic Jiulongshan Formation near the Daohugou Village, Ningcheng County, Inner Mongolia, northeastern China. Megasepididontus Huang & Nel, 2008 (Middle Jurassic of China) is synonymized under Shurabia Martynov, 1937. Two new combinations are proposed: Megasepididontus grandis Huang & Nel, 2008 Shurabia grandis (Huang & Nel, 2008) comb. nov. and Shurabia shartegica Aristov, Wappler & Rasnitsyn, 2009 Sinosepididontus shartegicus (Aristov, Wappler & Rasnitsyn, 2009), comb. nov. Shurabia grandis (Huang & Nel, 2008) and Sinosepididontus chifengensis Huang & Nel, 2008 are re-described and illustrated based on new materials from the type locality. A key to the genera of Geinitziidae is constructed. The diagnosis of Geinitziidae is emended by the body characters exhibited in the new fossils. A suite of morphological characters suggest that the Geinitziidae were diurnal above-ground predators.
