Are spent long (more than 40 years) fixed research in the forests of the Southern Sikhote-Alin (Russia Far East) that have allowed to develop objective ways to evaluate the impact of economic activity on the elements of water balance for the major forest types at the basin level. Observations of paired objects forest-clearing revealed a close relationship of the structural features and composition of forests in different parts of the relief, using taxational and biometric characteristics of forest ecosystems as indicators.
