Vegetational cover of Susuman Area, Magadan Oblast

The author analyses floristical pattern of vegetational cover of the study area in the surround­ings of Susuman Town (Upper Kolyma River), the area disturbed by gold mining operations in the lighest degree. The study covers 000 km2 area in the basins of Berelekh, Susuman, and Neksikan ivers. Flora consists of 341 species; half of them has been registered on gold mining fields. The article describes all vegetation units within the study area; gives two graph models of floristical structure of vegetation on undisturbed and intensively disturbed areas; it shows how floristical heterogenity of vegetation transforms at different ways of gold mining, at different stages of reclamation and reforestation. Some simplest methods to speed up the reclamation process after gold mining operations are given.
