The genus Lycogaster Shuckard, 1841 is recorded from Vietnam for the first time based on the specimens of L. flavonigrata Chen, Achterberg, He et Xu, 2014 collected from 2017 to 2025. Variation of external morphological characters is discussed and the notes on the biology of the species are presented.
