Chironomus (Lobochironomus) bifidus Pal et Hazra, sp. n. is described on the basis of adult male and pupa from the West Bengal in India. In addition, Chironomus (Chironomus) crassiforceps (Kieffer, 1916) is recorded for the first time from India.
