Four species of the subgenus Haplothemus Wittmer, 1973 (Themus cacharensis Champion, 1926, T. lamellatus Wittmer, 1973, T. probsti Wittmer, 1993, and T. reymondi Bourgeois, 1907) are firstly recorded from China. Themus cacharensis is transferred from the nominotypical subgenus to the subgenus Haplothemus .
