To the knowledge of dung flies (Diptera, Scathophagidae) of Vietnam, with the description of a new species.

Five species in three genera of Scathophagidae are firstly recorded from Vietnam. One species, Scatomyza fansipanicola Ozerov, sp. n., is described. Scatomyza Fallén, 1810 is considered as a valid genus. Diagnoses and keys to all recorded from Vietnam taxa are given.
